For all you pilot's out there looking for a chance to get back in the skies, take advantage of this experiment seeking data on flying habits and cost. For the month of October, Redbird Skyport will be offering avgas for the price of $1 per gallon. There's no catch, but you must fly-in and you can fill up as often as you like, just fill out a simple survey.

Avgas is like race fuel, right? :P
Though for $1/gal, I'll fill up my garage with the stuff and make it work.

I've used it in my car before, but its leaded, so if you have cats, they'll get clogged and it can foul up your sensors. Otherwise, it performs great. In this case, I don't think you're allowed to bring gas cans. So.. I guess there is a catch. You have to fly in.

Damn. Usually it's over $5 per gallon for 100LL. This is a steal.

I could fill up my Corvair no problem. With the 80HP 1962 engine it gives no fucks about lead content.

unfortunately, it's unflyable at any speed.
